Britt Stouffer

Owner, Managing Partner

Britt Stouffer embodies the dynamism and innovation that many law firms aspire to. A decade ago, she laid the foundation of her own firm, driven by her fearless determination and a vision to do things differently. She understands that a solitary journey, no matter how brilliant, can't match the power of a collaborative approach. As a graduate of Loyola College in Maryland, she embraced their tenets for learning wholeheartedly: a multi-disciplinary education to foster a growth mindset, nurturing the entire being—mind, body, and spirit. She also attended University of Baltimore Law School and has taken multiple certifications to continue to elevate her knowledge in law and business. This holistic approach permeates every facet of her life and work.

Britt’s love for non-fiction mirrors her approach to law—grounded in reality yet constantly seeking knowledge. The mental discipline she hones while golfing mirrors the focus she requires to steer her firm, setting her sights on the next achievement, on and off the green. Her life, enriched by the mobility of a military family upbringing, has fostered an insatiable appetite for travel. Throughout her journey, Britt's passion for exploration has taken her to exotic locations around the world, each trip enriching her with novel ideas, legal perspectives, and cutting-edge technologies that she seamlessly integrates into her firm's operations. From the historic alleys of Paris, resonating with the echoes of the past and the hum of rule-abiding citizens, to the tranquil beaches of the Cayman Islands where she and her husband find respite, Britt's passion for exploration is a testament to her dynamic character.

Stouffer Legal stands as a beacon of Britt's fearless innovation and her commitment to challenging the conventional. With each journey, she brings back not just souvenirs but integrated legal insights and advanced technologies that enhance the firm's operations and service delivery. Her competitive drive is not satisfied with merely setting goals; Britt ensures these targets are surpassed, instilling a culture of excellence within her team.

ABOUT ME

People Often Ask...

  • Can you share your philosophy on the importance of family core values in the estate planning process?
The philosophy on the importance of family core values in the estate planning process typically centers around the belief that estate planning is not just about distributing assets, but also about passing on a family's ideals that formed the behavior that created their legacy. Estate planning is a tool that ensures that not only financial wealth but also the intangible heritage of a family – its values, beliefs, and traditions – are preserved and passed down to future generations. By incorporating family core values into the estate plan, it helps in creating a lasting legacy that aligns with the family's identity and ethos.
  • What role do you believe an estate plan plays in preserving and passing on family legacies and values?
I firmly believe that an estate plan is essential in preserving and passing on family legacies and values. To me, it's far more than a mere financial strategy; it's a vessel for our history, our achievements, and our guiding principles. With a thoughtful estate plan, we can encapsulate the stories, the values, and the dreams that have defined us. This ensures that these treasures do not merely live in the past but have a palpable presence in the future, guiding our loved ones in their own lives. Estate planning, as I see it, is akin to crafting a lasting narrative that speaks to who we are and what we stand for. It's about leaving behind a blueprint of wisdom and a collection of life’s lessons that remain relevant across the ages. It allows us to convey not just our wealth but also the richness of our experiences and beliefs. I guide my clients to see beyond the numbers and assets; to me, a robust estate plan is an act of love—a way to continue providing guidance and assurance to our families even when we are no longer physically present. It's about creating a legacy of character, of philanthropy, and of values that resonate through time. At Stouffer Legal, we don't just safeguard assets; we're custodians of stories, champions of values, ensuring that every family's legacy is as enduring as the memories they cherish.

What I Do For Fun...

  • In my free time, I love to travel with my husband and play golf.
I also enjoy reading and writing, as well as assisting other business owners in realizing their goals.

Stouffer Legal assisted me in the settlement of my cousins estate. It was a complicated estate due to many accounts and properties needing to be addressed. They guided me through every step and provided the support, tools, and representation with courts, accountants, banks, and beneficiaries to fully settle her estate. Truly a fine professional group to partner with.

The Stouffer Legal team was extremely helpful and always very responsive to my many questions and concerns throughout the estate planning process. They were very professional and took the time to explain all of the many legal terms to ensure that I understood the documents and was comfortable before signing anything. I never felt pressured or rushed. It was a pleasant experience. I would highly recommend them to anyone seeking an attorney for estate planning.
